Learn the truth about cannabis and the maternal body.
A decolonial, evidence-based training for doulas, birth workers, and parents who want to understand cannabis through science, story, and harm-reduction. Not stigma.
Why This Course Exists
Public conversations about cannabis and pregnancy are often clouded by fear, outdated studies, and legal pressure. When people hear “fetal cannabis harm,” they picture the severe impacts seen with alcohol or opioids—but the evidence does not support that comparison.
Cannabis-Informed Birth brings the conversation back into proportion. Over three months, we’ll explore what research actually shows, how traditional knowledge aligns with modern science, and how to advocate for safety, autonomy, and truth in maternal care.
What you will learn
Through six live sessions and guided community discussion, you’ll gain practical tools and cultural context to become truly cannabis-informed.
By the end of the course, you will:
-Understand the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and its role in fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum health
-Accurately explain what research says—and doesn’t say—about cannabis risk
-Learn how to talk to healthcare providers and document conversations safely
-Create cannabis-informed birth plans rooted in harm-reduction and autonomy
-Recognize and avoid legal risks, including hospital screenings and CPS policies
-Integrate ancestral, scientific, and community knowledge into your practice
-Advocate for decolonized and trauma-informed birthwork in your community
